Battleship Variation: Two-Story Battleships

This Battleships variant appeared first on Takahiko Saito's puzzles web site. Following the rules of Standard Battleships, it adds a twist: the fleet contains ships that have a second floor added. The tallies on the right and bottom of the board include second floor segments.

  The standard fleet consists of a battleship through submarine:

Notice the following:

• The destroyer (third from the left) has a red segment added as a second floor. This means the destroyer will account for three segments.
• The cruiser (second from the left) has a second-floor red segment added in its middle, and will account for four segments.
• The battleship (on the far left) has two second-floor red segments added, and will account for six segments.
